Reading this could save your dog’s life…..

RobinWe recently had a number of cases of Parvo virus in unvaccinated puppies and young unvaccinated adult dogs. Parvo virus is an infection that causes severe vomiting and diarrhoea usually with blood present and is often fatal. Sadly in one case the dog in question had never been vaccinated against parvo and the infection proved fatal. Parvo virus is a common canine infection that can easily be prevented by vaccination. Parvo virus usually affects puppies but we have seen a number of cases in older dogs. If your dog is not vaccinated or you are unsure as to whether your dog has been vaccinated we recommend that you do so. If your dog is showing these symptoms we recommend that you bring him or her to your vet immediately. If your dog has had regular vaccinations then Parvo virus will have been included in these and is not something that you need to worry about!
